Even the chest on the heel is gold-plated. On top of the layer of leaf gold, the shoes are brushed with a kind of Chinese furniture bag, which makes the gold well protected.

Pretty nice and neat work. At the very end, John Lobb Paris, as now, holds a high level of everything from their bespoke workshop. One of the benefits of entire production in-house, combined with careful quality control.
